Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa taking to X questioned the rationale in outsourcing Sri Lanka’s visa application process, stating that the only logical explanation for the move was corruption.
Premadasa said that the entire tourism budget for the year 2024 was Rs. 2 billion, while only Rs. 100 million were allocated for national branding.
“But to process visas through VFS we will spend 13.5 Billion rupees annually. The only logical explanation is absolute corruption,” he said.
