The suspect wanted in connection with a shooting incident in the Baseline Watta area of Horana was arrested today (May 5) after being detected by the Automated Facial Recognition System (AFRS) installed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The victim of the shooting is currently receiving treatment at hospital, and police report that the incident stemmed from a longstanding personal dispute between the two parties.
Police also stated that the scooter used during the shooting, was found abandoned in the Horana area by Special Task Force (STF) officers. (NewsWire)
