A 31-year-old resident of Kuliyapitiya who was reported missing since April 22 has been found murdered.
The Police found the body of the youth, burnt and abandoned, in a forest area in Madampe this morning.
Investigations reveal that the victim, who operated an eatery, had visited his girlfriend’s residence in Kuliyapitiya along with his employee on April 22, but was reported missing since.
One individual who was arrested in connection to the missing youth had been released on two sureties of Rs. 500,000 by the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said that even though it was confirmed that the missing youth had been murdered, details on how it was carried out and the individuals involved have not been ascertained yet. (Newswire)
