The upcoming DIGIECON Global Investment Summit 2024 is set to bolster Sri Lanka’s IT sector and economy, State Minister for Technology Kanaka Herath said. Speaking at the Presidential Media Centre today (10), Herath outlined the summit’s role in attracting foreign investments and advancing the country’s digital economy under the broader initiative.

The DIGIECON Global Investment Summit is slated to take place in conjunction with the “DIGIECON-2023” project, on June 25, under the auspices of President Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo.

The summit aims to bolster the ongoing DIGIECON initiative, geared towards fostering a digital economy in Sri Lanka. The conference presents a significant opportunity for individuals engaged in the field of information technology, including students, to advance their expertise.

The government’s goal is to position Sri Lanka prominently on the international stage, offering a platform for global investment and showcasing the exceptional talent of our youth, Herath said. He also noted the country’s improving economic stability and decreasing inflation rates as positive indicators for potential investors.

The summit is expected to draw significant foreign investment, further strengthening the nation’s economic landscape and providing unique growth opportunities for the local IT community. (Newswire)
