The Kegalle Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has issued a special warning to motorists using the Colombo-Kandy main road today.
Accordingly, motorists using the Colombo-Kandy main road are advised to be vigilant as there are risks of rocks and trees falling onto the stretch of road along Pahala Kadugannawa, due to inclement weather, the DMC said.
Meanwhile issuing a warning over possible landslides, the National Building Research Organization urged residents of several Divisional Secretariats to remain vigilant as the rainfall in these areas have exceeded 100 mm over the past 24 hours.
Accordingly, residents of the Seethawaka Mathugama and Bulathisinhala, Ambagamuwa, Elapatha, Ratnapura, Kuruwita, Kirella, Eheliyagoda, Ayagama, Kalawana, Imbulpe and Balangoda Divisional Secretariats were urged to remain vigilant of possible landslides, slope failures and rock fall. (Newswire)
