The Colombo High Court has temporarily lifted the overseas travel ban on Geoffrey Aloysius, Chairman of Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL), as reported by Lankadeepa Newspaper.
The order was issued today (13) when the case was heard before a three-member bench consisting of Justices Amal Perera, Namal Balalle, and Adithya Patabendige.
Geoffrey Aloysius, the sixth defendant in the Central Bank of Sri Lanka bond scam case, was permitted to travel overseas for medical treatment in Singapore within three months.
Accordingly, the suspension of the travel ban is effective from June 1 to September 12.
Aloysius was arrested in 2019 by the Criminal Investigation Department on the Attorney General’s instructions.
Geoffrey Aloysius is the father of PTL owner Arjun Aloysius, the main accused in the treasury bond scam. (Newswire)
