The new draft constitution for the Sri Lanka Cricket Board was presented to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat today (15 June)

The recommendations include restructuring the composition and structure of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), enhancing the administration, training, and overall well-being of players across various levels, including the national men’s and women’s teams, under-19 and under-17 age groups. The focus is on transparency, professionalism, and accountability in Sri Lankan cricket.

Proposals also aim to reform the foundational levels of Sri Lankan cricket, such as school, district, provincial, and community levels, by promoting merit, equality, and fairness.

Retired Supreme Court judge K.T. Chitrasiri, chairman of the committee, presented the draft to the President. Other committee members were also present during the occasion. (NewsWire)
