The Kataragama Police reported that at least 13 people sustained injuries after an elephant ran out of control at the Ruhunu Kataragama Perahera last night (6).
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., shortly after the Perahera began. Injuries were reported as spectators ran in panic when the elephant became uncontrollable.
Hospital sources have confirmed that the condition of the injured is not serious.
