The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has revealed that an income of over $1.5 billion was reported from the tourism sector during the first six months of 2024.
According to the latest report released by CBSL, tourism income reached $1.55 billion from January to June this year, compared to $875 million in the same period in 2023, marking a 77.9% increase.
In the first six months of 2024, over 1 million tourist arrivals were reported, with 1,010,249 arrivals recorded. This represents a significant 61.7% increase compared to 2023, when 624,874 tourist arrivals were recorded. (NewsWire)
