Ceylon Electricity Board Embraces Green Energy with Regen Renewables

Sri Lanka’s largest utility service provider, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), is taking significant strides towards sustainability by adopting green energy solutions. In a notable initiative, the utility has chosen Regen Renewables (Pvt) Ltd. as the provider for the supply and commissioning of a Solar PV System at its Head Office building in Colombo.

The project, valued at Rs 12.5 million, was successfully executed by Regen Renewables (Pvt) Ltd. The 60kW installation features high-quality solar panels sourced from Suntech China and inverters from Sunways. Regen Solar, a division of Regen Renewables, was selected by CEB engineering following a rigorous competitive bidding process and thorough evaluation.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, Regen Solar specializes in commercial and industrial solar projects. The company boasts an impressive portfolio, serving as the Solar PV provider for esteemed institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, LECO, Lanka Transformers Ltd., and the Atomic Energy Authority, to name a few. Regen Solar is recognized for its robust engineering expertise and is an authorized distributor for Sunways and Suntech products from China.

CEB’s decision to partner with Regen Renewables was further influenced by the company’s reputation for reliability, innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainable energy practices. Furthermore, the company’s ability to provide tailored solutions that meet stringent technical specifications and deliver optimal performance was also a key factor in their selection.
