The National Election Commission says an analysis will be conducted on the increase in the number of rejected votes in the recently concluded Presidential Election.
Election Commission chairman, RMAL Rathnayake revealed that 300,300 votes had been rejected in the 2024 Presidential Polls, which is 2.2%
In the 2019 Presidential Election, a total of 135,452 votes were rejected, which was 0.85% and less than the figure reported in the 2024 Presidential Election.
The Election Commission states it expects to identify the reasons for the rejection of votes via its analysis. (Newswire)
