President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that efforts to complete the Central Expressway are advancing, with the government expected to securing support from Japan.
Speaking at a rally in Kandy, Dissanayake said discussions with the Japanese Ambassador have facilitated steps to resume and expedite the expressway’s construction.
The President highlighted the importance of infrastructure developments for easing traffic congestion in Kandy and its surrounding areas. In addition to the expressway, the government plans to address issues with regional bus terminals to improve local transport.
Dissanayake emphasized the need for a capable and proactive government to push forward national development. He underscored the role of the opposition, advocating for a constructive approach that contributes to progress rather than impeding it. (NewsWire)
