The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has updated its landslide warnings issued to nine (09) districts.
Accordingly the NBRO) has issued Amber alerts for several divisional secretariats in the Badulla, Kandy, Kegalle, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Since rainfall over 100 mm has been recorded in these areas over the last 24 hours, residents have been advised to remain vigilant and evacuate to safe locations to avoid the risk of landslides, rockfall and ground subsidence.
The NBRO has also issued Yellow Alerts for Badulla, Colombo, Gampaha, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura districts, urging residents of these areas to remain vigilant. (Newswire)
