Alliance Finance Company PLC (AFC) proudly announces the dual listing of its landmark Green Bond on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) and its inclusion on the prestigious Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX). Following its initial issuance and listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in February 2025, this historic milestone marks Sri Lanka’s first-ever Green Bond issued by a non-banking financial institution, further cementing AFC’s leadership in the finance sector as a Company that is focused on contributing to society and the environment through its core business.

The AFC Green Bond successfully raised LKR 1 billion (approximately EUR 3.1 million), becoming Sri Lanka’s first capital market debt instrument dedicated to renewable energy within the NBFI sector. Proceeds from the issuance are being deployed to finance clean energy projects, particularly solar energy, directly supporting Sri Lanka’s national goals of achieving 70% renewable energy by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050 in keeping with its international commitments.

Admission to the LuxSE Securities Official List (SOL) and display on the LGX enhances global visibility and underscores AFC’s commitment to sustainable finance. The issuance complies with the International Capital Market Association’s (ICMA) Green Bond Principles – recognized globally as the benchmark for green bond issuance.

AFC’s dual listing aligns with its broader vision of diversifying Sri Lanka’s capital markets and strengthening its leadership in green finance. The company’s commitment to sustainability continues through its intention to evolve its Green Bond Framework into a comprehensive Sustainable Bond Framework, enabling the financing of social development projects alongside environmental initiatives.

This milestone is not only a transformative step for AFC but also a landmark for Sri Lanka’s financial sector, demonstrating the capacity of local financial instruments to attract international investors. It sets a new benchmark for innovation and sustainability in the region and reinforces Sri Lanka’s position in the global green finance landscape.
