The Warakagoda Police have found a UZI 9mm firearm with a magazine on an abandoned land in the Katuhena, Nahalla area in Balikanda, Warakagoda.
According to the Police, the weapon was recovered based on a tip-off received by a Police officer attached to the Thebuwana Police Station from an informant.
Stating that the land is currently unoccupied, the Police said it was found concealed in a polythene sack.
