Lunugamvehera Police have launched an investigation into a fatal stabbing that occurred on the evening of April 30. The victim, a 67-year-old resident of Akkaragalagod, Lunugamvehera, was attacked with a sharp weapon.
According to police, the victim was riding a motorcycle when he was hit from behind by a cab. After the victim was thrown off the road, the suspect allegedly got out of the vehicle and struck him with a club, fatally injuring him, before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s body has been placed at the Hambantota Hospital mortuary. A 27-year-old suspect has been arrested along with the weapon used and the cab involved. Lunugamvehera Police are continuing further investigations. (Newswire)
