The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in the Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Eastern Provinces, and the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
According to the department, Amber and Red alerts have been issued to several districts, with the advisory effective until 11.00 pm today.
The public has been urged to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by lightning activities. (Newswire)
