Sri Lanka Women pulled off their second-highest successful run chase in Women’s ODIs, beating India by 3 wickets in a thrilling finish at the RPICS, Colombo on Sunday.
Chasing 276, Sri Lanka reached 278/7 with three balls to spare, powered by a rapid 56 off 33 balls from Nilakshika Silva and a composed 53 from Harshitha Samarawickrama. The victory ended a seven-year ODI drought against India.
India earlier posted 275/9, anchored by Richa Ghosh’s 58 and Jemimah Rodrigues’ 37, while Chamari Athapaththu and Sugandika Kumari each bagged three wickets.
With this result, both Sri Lanka and India have two wins from three games in the tri-nation series, while South Africa are yet to open their account after two losses. (Newswire)
