The Indian Armed Forces have conducted precision strikes on what officials described as terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to an official statement by the High Commission of India in Colombo, nine locations were targeted in the strikes in Operation Sindoor.
Indian authorities emphasized that the action was “focused, measured and non-escalatory,” adding that no Pakistani military installations were among the targets.
The operation follows the April attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen were killed. India has attributed the attack to cross-border terrorism and stated that the strikes were part of its effort to hold those responsible accountable.
“We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” the statement said. (Newswire)
