How much tax revenue did Sri Lanka collect in Q1 2025?

Sri Lanka collected Rs. 970.58 billion in tax revenue during the first quarter of 2025, according to a financial performance report submitted to the Cabinet.

Total government spending for the same period amounted to Rs. 1,562.94 billion, including Rs. 1,226.55 billion in recurrent expenditure and Rs. 336.39 billion in capital outlays, such as public debt repayments.

According to the figures, this records a deficit of Rs. 498.28 billion between government revenue and expenditure in the first quarter of 2025.
