A German national has been detained by the Cinnamon Gardens Police in connection with a suspicious incident involving a laptop left near the Russian Embassy in Colombo.
The incident took place last week when the foreign national arrived at the embassy, handed over a laptop, and quickly left the premises, raising security concerns.
The suspect was apprehended at the airport while attempting to leave the country.
According to newspaper reports, police stated that the young woman was questioned for more than five hours with the assistance of a translator. She reportedly refused to provide the password to the laptop during the interrogation.
