The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a landmark defence agreement valued at nearly US$142 billion, which the White House has hailed as the largest such deal in history.

The agreement, signed during President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh, is part of a broader US$600 billion package that also includes major Saudi investments in energy and technology sectors.

Describing the deals as “historic and transformative,” the White House emphasized that they reflect a deepening strategic partnership between Washington and Riyadh.

“These are just a few of the many transformative deals reached,” the statement said, highlighting the scale and scope of bilateral cooperation.

President Trump, who was welcomed with full royal honors in the Saudi capital, met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to finalize the deals. “We like each other a lot,” Trump remarked during the talks, underscoring the strong rapport between the two leaders. (Newswire)
