Ten women and two men who were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting terrorist activities linked to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks were released today on the advice of the Attorney General.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe ordered their discharge after the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) informed court that investigations into their alleged involvement had concluded.
Following a review of the case file, the Attorney General instructed on April 9 that no further legal action be taken against them. Acting on these instructions, the prosecution moved to release all twelve individuals. (Newswire)
