Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe says Letters of Credit (LCs) worth approximately USD 450 million have already been opened for vehicle imports.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Central Bank on Thursday, he stated that vehicles worth around USD 200 million have already been imported into the country.
The government has announced that it expects to allocate up to USD 1 billion for vehicle imports in 2025. (Newswire)
