Cabinet approval has been granted to appoint a committee to recommend amendments to the Online Safety Act No. 9 of 2024.
According to the government, Cabinet approval was granted at their meeting held in February 2025 to amend the Online Safety Act No. 9 of 2024.
As such, a joint Cabinet Memorandum was presented to appoint a committee representing all the relevant sectors, chaired by a Supreme Court Judge, to submit recommendations to amend the said act, including the already identified revisions and revisions recognised after public consultation.
The proposal presented by the Minister of Mass Media, the Minister of Public Security, and the Minister of Justice has received the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers. (Newswire)
