A group of Sri Lankan migrant workers who were deported from Kuwait due to a lack of valid visas have arrived in Sri Lanka, it was reported.
The group, consisting of 30 migrant workers, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport early yesterday.
It is reported that the individuals were arrested by Kuwaiti Police and held in prisons and detention centres prior to being deported to Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan Embassy had intervened and secured their release, while the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) had covered their travel expenses. (Newswire)
