The Bribery Commission has arrested a Police Sergeant for accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 to refrain from initiating action against two individuals.
According to the Bribery Commission, the bribe had been solicited to refrain from taking legal action against a person who was riding a motorcycle without a valid driving licence and the person who had provided the motorcycle.
The Police Sergeant attached to the Kinniya Police has been arrested based on investigations launched into a complaint filed by a person in the Kinniya area.
Accordingly, the Police Sergeant was arrested by officers of the Bribery Commission while going to receive the bribe near Buhari Junction in Kinniya. (Newswire/ AI Image)
