Sri Lanka recorded its highest-ever tourist arrivals for the month of May, with 132,919 visitors in May 2025, surpassing the previous record of 129,466 set in May 2018.
Arrivals in May rose by 18.5% compared to the same month in 2024 and increased by 2.7% compared to May 2018, reflecting continued growth in the tourism sector.
India was the largest source of tourists, contributing 47,001 visitors or 35.4% of the total. The United Kingdom, China, Bangladesh, and Germany followed as key markets. (Newswire)
