Valachchenai’s once-defunct paper factory is now operating at a profit and has begun settling its longstanding debts, according to Industries Minister Sunil Handuneththi.
The minister revealed that plans are underway to import new machinery to expand production capacity. In addition to reviving the factory, a range of tourism-related initiatives are being developed in the area — including a museum, an adventure camping site, a photo shoot center, and new tourist facilities.
