The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas, effective until 03.00 pm tomorrow (10 June).
The advisory has been issued for the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar, and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
The Met Department states that due to the effect of the active southwest monsoon condition, the sea areas will be rough to very rough at times with strong gusty winds up to 55-65 kmph.
The Naval and fishing communities have been advised to be vigilant in this regard. (Newswire)
