President Anura Kumara Dissanayake extended his condolences following the crash of Air India flight AI171 in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
In a statement, the president expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives aboard the flight and the civilian casualties on the ground, including young medical students.
“At this moment of deep sorrow, the people of Sri Lanka stand in solidarity with India,” he said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted.”
