JVP delegation meets Chinese Communist Party Leaders in China

A delegation from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, met with senior leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Guizhou Province on June 12. The meeting was held at the invitation of the CCP and took place at the International Conference Hall in Guizhou.

The JVP delegation was warmly received by Xu Lin, Secretary of the CCP’s Guizhou Provincial Committee, who extended congratulations on the electoral success of the JVP-led National People’s Power (NPP). Xu Lin reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between the two parties and expressed confidence that this relationship would be further strengthened through ongoing exchanges.

During the discussion, Tilvin Silva praised China’s transformation into a global economic powerhouse, crediting the leadership of President Xi Jinping and the CCP. He noted that the JVP delegation hoped to gain valuable insights from the visit.

The JVP team included Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Eranga Gunasekara, Deputy Minister of National Unity Muneer Mulafer, MPs A.M. Jegadeeswaran (Jaffna District), Deepti Wasalathilake (Matale District), and Dharmapriya Wijesinghe (Gampaha District).

The CCP was represented by several key officials, including Guo Xiwen (Standing Committee Member of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee), Zhang Jingping (Vice Mayor of Guizhou), Sun Haiyan (Vice Minister of the CCP’s International Department), Lin Tao (Deputy Director-General of the CCP’s International Department), and Wen Jun (Deputy Head of a division within the same department).
