A 64-year-old man serving as a caretaker of a house in Dakunu Ulhitiyawa, Wennappuwa, has been found murdered, with the house’s van also reported stolen.
According to police, the incident was reported yesterday (13) after a relative of the owners — currently residing in Italy — visited the house and discovered the caretaker’s body in a room. His hands and feet had been bound, and signs of a brutal assault were evident.
Police investigations revealed that the caretaker was the only person living at the residence at the time. The family’s van, which had been parked in the garage, was also missing.
Wennappuwa Police have launched a full investigation, though no suspects have been identified yet. (Newswire)
