The Coastal Police have recovered over 04 kilos of ICE from a car that was pursued by Police officers on mobile patrol in Colombo last night.
According to the Police, the officers had attempted to stop and inspect a speeding car near the Hettiyawatta Junction.
However, the car had failed to heed the order and had proceeded, after which the Police officers had pursued it and stopped the vehicle near Reclamation Road.
The driver of the vehicle had fled the area, while the Police officers had found 04.12 kilos of ICE kept inside four plastic containers.
The stock of narcotics and the car have been taken into Police custody, while the Coastal Police have launched a probe to arrest the driver of the vehicle. (Newswire)
