Great Wall Motor (GWM), one of China’s top automotive manufacturers, has officially entered the Sri Lankan market through a strategic partnership with SENOK.
This launch marks the first time GWM vehicles will be seen on Sri Lankan roads, with a focus on building a stable and well-supported presence through a trusted and experienced local partner.
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Baoding, China, GWM is a publicly listed company with global reach. The brand operates manufacturing plants in China, Thailand, and Brazil, and maintains research and development centres across Asia, Europe, and North America. With exports to over 170 countries, GWM has earned a reputation for robust, well-priced vehicles that combine practical design, developing technology, and efficient powertrains.
SENOK brings more than four decades of experience in the Sri Lankan automotive sector. The group has previously represented a number of leading international brands, and has a proven understanding of local market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. With established capabilities in vehicle distribution, service, and aftersales support, SENOK is well-positioned to lead GWM’s expansion in Sri Lanka.
The first GWM showroom will open in Colombo 07, followed by a phased national rollout of retail and aftersales infrastructure.
