Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
A few showers may occur in the North-western province.
Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills and the Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

According to the Department of Meteorology, showers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will be Westerly to South-westerly and wind speed will be 30-40 kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 55-60 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
Wind speed can increase up to 45-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Matara via Colombo and Galle, and from Kankasanthurai to Vakarai via Trincomalee.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be very rough at times. The sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Matara via Colombo and Galle and from Kankasanthurai to Vakarai via Trincomalee may be fairly rough at times.
The wave height of about 2.0 – 2.5 m may increase in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle (this is not for land area). (Newswire)
