Sri Lanka recorded USD 635.7 million in worker remittances in June 2025, a 22% increase compared to USD 519.6 million in June 2024, according to data from the Central Bank. However, remittance inflows dipped slightly from May 2025, when USD 641.7 million was recorded.

Despite the marginal month-on-month decline, June marks another strong month of inflows, helping to support the country’s foreign reserves, which stood at USD 6.08 billion at end-June. This includes proceeds from the PBOC swap arrangement. (Newswire)
