‘Green Cycling Tour’ around Sri Lanka concludes in Kotte

The ‘Green Cycling Tour’, which saw a cycling team of 25 members start their journey from near the Kotte Divisional Secretariat office and travel around the entire island for 12 days, concluded yesterday.

The event was organized by the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat in collaboration with the National Integration Division of the Ministry of Justice.

The cycling team covered the whole country while taking the pride of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte capital city, to the international arena.

The main objectives of the ‘Green Cycling Tour’ were to build harmony among ethnic communities, promote Sri Lanka’s tourism industry internationally, and develop Kotte capital city as a tourist destination.

The event was attended by Kotte Mayor Arosha Athapattu, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretary Kasun Apa Seneviratne, Welikada Police, Urban Development Authority, Western Province Tourism Board, National Enterprise Development Authority, Kotte Museum officials, and many other institutional representatives. 

The program concluded with a closing ceremony, consisting of a short musical performance. (Newswire)
