A stock of 15 million drug capsules that were confiscated as court assets following legal proceedings was destroyed at a cement factory in Puttalam on Monday (21).
According to the Police, the stock of drugs was seized during a joint raid conducted by the Police and the Sri Lanka Customs in September 2018.
Following the conclusion of legal proceedings and based on an order from the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, the stock of drugs was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for destruction.
The drug capsules were destroyed at a cement factory in Puttalam under special police protection and the supervision of the Puttalam Magistrate yesterday. (Newswire)
