An arms and explosives cache has been uncovered in Vavuniya based on information provided by a suspect arrested two days ago with a T-56 assault rifle in Kiribathgoda, police said.
According to the Police, the suspect was apprehended with the firearm and later provided critical intelligence that led authorities to a property in Vavuniya.
During the search, officers discovered a barrel buried in the premises, containing 86 hand grenades and 321 live rounds of T-56 ammunition.
