Marking a significant milestone in its journey of global excellence, AICPA & CIMA, together forming the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, have officially been certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ (GPTW) in Sri Lanka for the first time.

This prestigious recognition, awarded by Great Place to Work®, a global authority on workplace culture, reflects the Association’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, empowering, and high trust work environment for its teams around the world.

In 2025, the Association earned GPTW certifications in eight countries, including long-standing recognitions in the United States, United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, India, and South Africa, and for the first time, Sri Lanka and Poland demonstrating its expanding global impact and consistently positive employee experience.

A Milestone for Sri Lanka’s Accounting Talent Ecosystem

“This is a proud moment for our Sri Lankan operations,” said Tharindu Wijewardana, ACMA (UK), CGMA, Country Head – AICPA & CIMA Sri Lanka.

“Being certified as a Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka reaffirms our focus on people first values, transparency, diversity, and professional development. It’s a testament to the trust and engagement we’ve cultivated locally making AICPA & CIMA not just a leading global body, but also a top employer in Sri Lanka’s financial and professional services sector.”

Global Culture, Local Commitment

Globally employing over 1,200 professionals, the Association continues to invest in employee growth, career progression, flexible working models, and values-led leadership. From internal belonging initiatives to cross-border collaboration, the Association has maintained a culture of integrity, respect, and camaraderie.

“This recognition is a direct result of the amazing people we work with,” shared Sue Warman, Chief People Officer – AICPA & CIMA.

“Their commitment to our shared culture of inclusion, open communication, and continuous improvement enables us to thrive across regions and continue being an employer of choice.”

Recognition Rooted in Employee Trust

The Great Place to Work® certification is based on an independent, confidential survey that measures employee satisfaction across five key dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. These pillars form the foundation of high-performing workplace cultures around the world.

AICPA & CIMA’s first GPTW certification came in 2020 for the UK, US, and Malaysia. Since then, the Association has steadily expanded its recognition footprint, with certifications in India, China, South Africa, Ireland, and now Sri Lanka and Poland in 2025.

What’s Next for AICPA & CIMA Sri Lanka?

With Sri Lanka now joining the Association’s prestigious list of certified countries, the local team will continue its focus on employee empowerment, knowledge sharing, and creating meaningful impact within the country’s growing accounting and finance ecosystem.

The certification is valid for 12 months and renewable annually based on fresh survey data keeping workplace quality, employee experience, and internal culture at the forefront of continuous improvement.
