Sri Lankan Scouts depart to Portugal to attend the 16th World Scout Moot 2025

A 7 member contingent of Sri Lankan Scouts left the country yesterday to attend the 16th World Scout Moot 2025 to be held in Portugal from 23rd July to 3rd August 2025. The World Scout Moot that takes place every four years is organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement and is hosted by the Portuguese Scout Federation for this 16th Edition. The event will be attended by over 10,000 Rover Scouts and Leaders from over 100 countries across the world and will be held across multiple cities such as Lisbon, Over and Porto.

The Sri Lankan Contingent which will be the largest contingent in history to represent the Sri Lanka Scout Association at a World Scout Moot, comprises of the Head of Contingent, Mr. Supun Jayalath, CMT Member Mr. Amil Abeysundara, IST Member Mr. Niran Liyanage and Rover Scouts Hasithma Hansali, Shehan Philipkumar, Krishigautham Ganeshkumar and Aritha Bandara. A Bon Voyage Ceremony for the Contingent was held on 19th July 2025 at Holy Cross College, Gampaha under the patronage of the Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association, Mr. Janaprith Fernado and the contingent is advised by the International Commissioner, Dr. Asanka Eriyawa.
