An unidentified individual on a motorcycle attempted to open fire at a health administrative official near the S. de S. Jayasinghe grounds in Dehiwala today, police said.
However, the suspect fled the scene after the firearm reportedly failed to discharge. No injuries were reported, and the motive behind the attempted shooting remains unclear.
Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect. (Newswire)
