The AN-24 crashed 15 kilometers from the city of Tynda in the Amur region. There were 48 people on board. It is reported that there are no survivors. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
This is the second incident involving these aircraft in Russia in the last two months.
On May 26, at the airport in Kirensk, Irkutsk Region, the front landing gear collapsed during landing, causing the aircraft to roll off the runway. At the time, the aircraft was 51 years old.
