A major arrest was made in the Daluwakotuwa area of Kochchikade on July 26, 2025, when officers from the Organized Crimes Division of the Police Special Task Force apprehended a 60-year-old suspect in possession of a large cache of forged documents and valuables.
According to police, the suspect had in his possession:
* Fake local and foreign passports
* Forged driver’s licenses and national identity cards
* Counterfeit foreign visas
* Equipment used to produce fake documents
* Gold jewelry weighing 1.5 kg
* Cash amounting to Rs. 26.5 million
The suspect, a resident of Daluwakotuwa, Kochchikade, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further inquiries.
