President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has arrived at the Maldives on a three-day official state visit.
The visit comes at the invitation of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu.
According to the Maldivian President’s Office, this is President Dissanayaka’s first state visit to the Maldives since assuming office in September 2024.
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The state visit, scheduled from July 28th to 30th, will include bilateral discussions between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the President of the Maldives, along with other senior officials of the country.
During the visit, several agreements aimed at enhancing Sri Lanka-Maldives cooperation are expected to be signed.
Additionally, during the state visit, the President is scheduled to attend a community event organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in the Maldives, where he will meet with the Sri Lankan expatriate community residing in the Maldives. (Newswire)
