One person has been killed and another injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on the evening of July 27 in the Palapathwela area under the Matale Police Division.
According to police, a heated argument between two parties at a residence escalated into violence, during which two individuals were attacked with sharp weapons. Both victims were admitted to the Matale Hospital, where one of them—a resident of Palapathwela aged 18—was pronounced dead.
Investigations have revealed that the deceased had arrived at the suspect’s house with three others. An altercation broke out between the visitors and the occupants of the house, during which the suspect allegedly used a sharp weapon to fatally stab the victim in the neck and injure another individual.
The suspect has been arrested, and the body has been placed at the Matale Hospital morgue for further examination. Matale Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
