Dr. Tamara Kalubowila appointed as new Chairperson of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital
The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has appointed Dr. Tamara Kalubowila as the new Chairperson of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital.
Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, presented Dr Kalubowila with his letter of appointment on Tuesday (29) at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.
Dr Kalubowila, an old boy of Royal College, Colombo, graduated with an MBBS degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 1986.
He began his medical career at Panadura Hospital and subsequently served in numerous positions, including Medical Officer of Health, Regional Director of Health Services, Maternal and Child Health Medical Officer, Epidemiologist, and Medical Officer-in-Charge. Following these roles, he entered the field of medical administration as the Medical Superintendent of Horana Hospital.
He obtained a postgraduate qualification in medical administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, in 2002. Afterwards, Dr Kalubowila worked as the director at Panadura, Horana, and Kalutara hospitals, as well as the Kalutara Health Sciences Institute and Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) for the Kalutara District.
Dr. Kalubowila officially assumed duties as Chairperson of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital Wednesday morning (30).
