A suspect was injured and hospitalised after police opened fire during an attempted arrest in Weliwita, Kaduwela, today, police said.
According to the Police Media Division, the suspect had attempted to assault the officers, prompting them to open fire. He was taken into custody and admitted to hospital for treatment.
