Tilina Sampath, also known as “Walaskata,” suffered fractures to both legs and one arm after allegedly attempting to escape from the Western Province North Crimes Division, police said.
The suspect, who is being held under a 90-day detention order, had asked to use the washroom around 9:15 p.m. Friday. While being escorted by four officers, he allegedly assaulted them and jumped from the third floor of the building.
He is receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital under heavy police guard. (Newswire)
